Characters
Winston- A main character who tried to oppose the system of Big Brother by doing illegal stuff like writing a diary, reading a book, and having sexual relationship with other, but he get caught by his neighbor and get tortured by O’brien. Then he started to love Big Brother. First I liked him but when he starts to get love in Big Brother I was disappointed, because in Korea while they were colony of Japan many people get tortured but many of them endured and died. So I think I don’t like him.
Julia- A female main character who loved Winston. First Winston thought she was a thought police who reads mind and arrest people quietly but she wasn’t. She was the member of anti-sexual something but she had an sexual relationship with Winston.
I don’t like her because she was a member of ati-sexual something but she does it.
O’brien- A character who deceives Winston and torture him. First he looked like he was a part of rebels but he was the member of Big Brother. I don’t like him because he’s like a Japanese who torture Korean.
Parsans- A neighbor who have a good relationship with Winston, but get caught by Junior Something who is their children. I liked them because they helped Winston.
Mr. Charrington- A character who pretend to be Winston neighbor but he is the member of Thought police. I don’t like him because he deceives Winston.
Climax
I think there are two climaxes in this book. First one is when they have sexual relationship, because by doing this act we could predict that they will get caught by the Big Brother and became a sad ending. The second climax is when Winston gets caught and tortured, because while he gets tortured his mind changed and it makes a twist. So I think these two are the climax.
Mood
The mood of this story is sad, dark and limited. The reason it is stricter than Soviet time, and the fact that without having any free is very sad.
Statement
“War is peace, Freedom is slavery, Ignorance is strength,” was the most meaningful and significant. This passage explains about this book and story. It was also very attractive to me because it tells what Socialism really thinks and wants to do.
Setting
The beautiful place in this book was the place was where Winston and Julia had a sex relationship, because it was the place there is no telescreen, peaceful, and it is greenish.
The place that was disturbing and memorable was Room101, because before O’brien and Winston meets O’brien sent a letter that lets meet in the bright place and I thought it was a peaceful place but it was Room101 which is the most terrible and horrible torturing place. It was disturbing because it scared me.
Relating
This book relates to the time during the Soviet Union. The political theory in this place and the philosophy in Soviet time is very similar. They have no freedom, and government controls everything. So I think it is related in to that time.
Theme
I think the theme is the physical torture makes your mind change, and this is important to teenager because when person gets beat up, they listen to people who beat them.
My feeling
After I read this I noticed this book is for grown up. However it was fun and interesting. When the book mentioned about that O'brien was a member of Big brother I got surprised and it was very interesting. The mood in this book was sad and dark, but it was fun. I recommend this book.

Richard, I read your paragraph. I Knew what this story about. I think you should write more, because it is very short.
You described very nicer than me! You completely put character's characteristics and summarized this book's main setting and stories. See ya
